A Message from the State Deputy for flood victims

My brothers all,
As you know, more the 60% of the counties in Pennsylvania were recently devastated by Tropical Storms Irene and Lee and it appears that many of these same counties are experiencing heavy rain again today. Last week I sent out an e-mail encouraging all brother knights that have received damage to their property to take advantage of our State Disaster Relief Fund and I also petitioned Supreme Council for additional help. I am happy to say that Supreme Council has not only offered us help, but they have sent funds to help our brothers in distress; however, I am saddened to say that I have not heard of any brother knight that has requested relief from our Disaster Relief Fund. I am asking you again to please contact all councils, members, etc. and let them know that if they have sustained a loss from the recent flooding or any other disaster that funds are available from State Council to help them through this troubling time. Remind them that the Disaster Relief Fund By-Laws are posted on State Council’s Website at http://www.pakofc.us and that the By-Laws are located just to the left of the words Fast Start Campaign. All anyone needs to do is click on Disaster Fund By-Laws and they will be able to read and print a copy of the by-law. Remind them, that on the form to apply for relief, it asks the applicant to include documentation such as photo’s, news articles, etc. with their submittal. Again, please contact all councils, members, etc. that may have sustained damage because NOW is the time to act while the opportunity to take photo’s still exists to document the loss. This fund has been established and funded by brother knights for brother knights and as such each brother knight that has sustained a loss is entitled to receive help and support from their brother knights. Please encourage all to take advantage of this fraternal benefit.
